Media Access Awards 2017 honoree The Ruderman Family Foundation, and one of the event’s pioneers, Tari Hartman Squire, were featured in this month’s TV Guide, talking about disability inclusion as part of the magazine’s coverage of Lights, Camera, Access 2.0, a conference designed to bring aspiring media professionals with disabilities and industry mentors together.
The article also cites a report from The Ruderman Foundation, revealing that: “2 percent of television characters have disabilities, while 95 percent of disabled characters in top 10 TV shows were portrayed by non-disabled actors.”
