2017 MAA C0-Host Haben Girma was on The Today Show this week, discussing her new memoir, Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law and her history of advocating for people with disabilities.

Girma told Today’s Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer that “People with disabilities should have the same choices as non-disabled people. When I was younger, I didn’t know that, but over time I started to realize I need to advocate. Otherwise, these barriers are not going to change.”
