Tonight, actress Ali Stroker won the Tony award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, as Ado Annie in the Broadway revival of Oklahoma. Stroker is the first wheelchair using actress ever to win a Tony, American theater’s highest honor.
In her acceptance speech, Stroker declared:
“This award is for every kid who has been watching tonight who has a disability, a limitation, or a challenge, who has been waiting to see themselves represented in this arena. You are.”
