Actor Jason George has become a familiar face on TV, with roles on shows like Sunset Beach, Eve, Off the Map, and Grey’s Anatomy. At the 2017 Media Access Awards, he spoke about disability rights.

Media Access Awards are about moving the needle for disability rights. I chair the diversity advisory committee for SAG-AFTRA and we have groups that represent what we call “the protected classes”–people who have been underrepresented in media and need a little extra help. Performers with disabilities have become the loudest, most vocal parts of our group. Because the reality is, of the protected classes, they are arguably the largest!
